I finally cracked...

After nearly 2 years of debate, I finally cracked and signed up for a Crunchyroll account.

If you've never heard of  http://www.crunchyroll.com/  and you're an anime fan, you've been missing out.  Crunchyroll is a LEGAL website that has both a free service and a subscription service.  They specialize in anime and live action dramas (I'm not so into the latter, but to each his own.) from Japan and Korea.  What really make Crunchyroll special is the simulcasts.  When a show debuts in Japan, it is available to watch, subtitled, the very same day with a premium membership, or one week later with no membership.

And here's a handy dandy list of all the animes available to watch on Crunchyroll:

I've been getting Gundam Wing (yes, the one from Cartoon Network approximately 250 years ago) discs shipped to me from Netflix, since it's one of the only ways to watch shows in their original language...  Because of this, I am on the 3 disc at time plan with Netflix, but I just discovered Crunchyroll has this great anime available, subtitled, streaming!!  Now I can drop my Netflix plan down to 2 discs at a time!

A Crunchyroll anime membership comes with a 2 week free trial, followed by your choice of either being billed monthly, yearly, or once every 3 months.  The best value is definitely a year which will run you a grand total of $60 (that's $5 a month, for those of you who can not haz the mathz).  The monthly plan will run you $6.95 a month (for a yearly total of $83.40) and the $20 every 3 months plan will run you a grand total of $80 for a year.  I plan on subscribing for the year membership.

  1. I'm addicted to the live action dramas. I don't know why, but I am. It's a sick, sad addiction.
