I finally cracked...

After nearly 2 years of debate, I finally cracked and signed up for a Crunchyroll account.

If you've never heard of  http://www.crunchyroll.com/  and you're an anime fan, you've been missing out.  Crunchyroll is a LEGAL website that has both a free service and a subscription service.  They specialize in anime and live action dramas (I'm not so into the latter, but to each his own.) from Japan and Korea.  What really make Crunchyroll special is the simulcasts.  When a show debuts in Japan, it is available to watch, subtitled, the very same day with a premium membership, or one week later with no membership.

And here's a handy dandy list of all the animes available to watch on Crunchyroll:

I've been getting Gundam Wing (yes, the one from Cartoon Network approximately 250 years ago) discs shipped to me from Netflix, since it's one of the only ways to watch shows in their original language...  Because of this, I am on the 3 disc at time plan with Netflix, but I just discovered Crunchyroll has this great anime available, subtitled, streaming!!  Now I can drop my Netflix plan down to 2 discs at a time!

A Crunchyroll anime membership comes with a 2 week free trial, followed by your choice of either being billed monthly, yearly, or once every 3 months.  The best value is definitely a year which will run you a grand total of $60 (that's $5 a month, for those of you who can not haz the mathz).  The monthly plan will run you $6.95 a month (for a yearly total of $83.40) and the $20 every 3 months plan will run you a grand total of $80 for a year.  I plan on subscribing for the year membership.

Don't Worry, We'll Think of a Title

It was a dark and stormy night...

Orrrr, it could be 8:43 a. m. EST, but hey, who's counting?

I hate breaking the ice.  I am neither an ice road trucker nor an ice fisherman, yet here in life, as I always find myself, I am stuck cracking my way through the cubes.

Am I breaking the ice, or is the ice breaking me?

Whilst I pick the ice chips from my hair, a little about me.  I am a 20-something-pushing-30-something wife and mother of one husband and one child.  I'm lazy, spazzy, and have selective OCD (house is a mess, but I can assure you, I have the cleanest hands around!!).

I guess this is a sort of anime review blog.  When you get to my advanced age and pot settings, you eventually begin to forgot all of those wonderful animes you've watched over the years.

I am an eternal nerd and pessimist, far to eager for my own depressing good, and realistic to a fault.  Reality hurts.  No, like, seriously, the stupidity of people causes me actual physical anguish and harm.

Oh yes, and I have a horrific voice.  It's like gravel being scraped down a chalkboard.  Okay, it's not quite THAT bad, but sorry guys, unfortunately for you, it sounds much nicer in my own ears then it actually does leaving my mouth!  Orrrr, not unfortunately, but fortunately, since you can't hear me.  But I digress.

^ If you can't see that, you need to adjust your computer's language settings for Japanese and possibly download a the language pack.  (Google it.)  I also periodically attempt to learn Japanese.  I also took it for a semester in college.  I can't really speak it but I can actually sorta follow a conversation with my back to the tv.  I also can write all the hiragana with ease, but I have a hard time remembering and get flustered.  (I'm like a great, big, riled-up, angry, momma chicken.)

That is all.
